This PAIA Manual is compiled in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, No. 2 of 2000 (PAIA). It provides information about our organization, the types of records we hold, and how to request access to these records.
PAIA gives effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by the State and any person that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights. It promotes transparency, accountability, and effective governance across all sectors.
This manual includes our company registration details, contact information, and the details of our Information Officer who is responsible for handling PAIA requests. All requests should be directed to the Information Officer.
We maintain various categories of records including company records, personnel records, customer records, financial records, and operational records. Some records are automatically available, while others require a formal request.
To request access to records, you must complete the prescribed request form (Form 02) and submit it to our Information Officer. The request must provide sufficient detail to enable us to identify the record(s) and the requester.
A request fee is payable upon submission of the request. Additional access fees may be charged for reproduction, search, and preparation of records. The fee structure is prescribed in the regulations and is detailed in this manual.
Access to records may be refused on certain grounds as specified in PAIA, including mandatory protection of privacy of third parties, commercial information, and confidential information. Any refusal will be communicated in writing with reasons.
If you are dissatisfied with our decision regarding your request, you may lodge an internal appeal, apply to the courts, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator within the prescribed timeframes.
For all PAIA-related queries and requests, please contact our Information Officer at the details provided in the manual. We are committed to responding to all requests within the statutory timeframes.
